Monday 10 May 2010 Chaumont-sur-Loire to Chambord Chateaux 40km

Rain, rain and more rain and throw in 9degC and you have a pretty sad old days cycling.

We rode without really looking at anything until we'd had enough and found a campground  but it was closed.  We thought we continue to Chambord where we knew was a big Chateaux and hoped that there may be some accommodation and as it turns out there was a hotel right in front of the Chateaux.....pretty cool.  We only did 40km but it's not too much fun riding in the cold rain and the thought of a hot shower and warm room was too attractive.

We soon forgot the cold, wet ride.

The Chateux is impressive!  The counts, kings or whoever it was who built these things sure like extravagance.

We had dinner in the restaurant and met a very nice American couple who are driving around France for their holiday.  We had the set menu and it was only average but the setting and great conversation made it a top night.
