Sunday-Monday 20/21 June 2010 Cre

Sunday-Monday 20/21 June 2010 Cres
During the night it rained and thundered and rained and thundered so much that we decided we better book another night and stay in Cres.  We wandered down to the Tourist Agency that handles the bookings and they looked up the weather forecast so we booked an extra two nights!!.  Good idea as we are both a bit tired and the riding in Croatia has sapped us of some emotional energy.  We are now talking of changing our plans slightly to avoid riding the roads here.

The centre of Cres is a maze of alleyways that are designated as streets but are car free and only wide enough for walking anyway.  It's really nice that the whole town and marina area is unspoilt by cars trying to park and make noise, it's very peaceful.  The little city is such a maze that each time Sandy and I walk to or from the town we find ourselves going a different way and discovering little shops or bars down secluded lanes.

Even though the weather is bloody awful the coastline is still stunning and I can imagine that the sailing here would be first-rate.
